Hi! I'm Katherine and I can't wait to meet you!
My love of photography began at a very young age. In fact, I don't remember a time when I didn't have some form of camera in my hands! In high school I discovered my dad’s 35mm film camera and shortly after was gifted with a pentax of my own. With the help of my dad, books, and many, MANY rolls of film I taught myself manual photography and found my passion for the art form.
In 2006 I purchased my first DSLR camera (instead of a car). I learned as much as I could about digital and film photography. During college, I fell in love with the process of photography in both film and digital formats... taking the photograph, developing images, having the option of manipulating images, and finally displaying the work. This respect for the process has continued to push my artistry and challenges me to always grow as a photographer.
In 2008, I graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a minor in Art History. Shortly after graduation, I married my high school sweetheart and moved to Minot, North Dakota. My passion for photography and capturing life in the still images only grew as we began our family and I documented our children. With a prayer and a ball of nerves in my stomach, I began my business when our family moved to Nebraska in 2016.
Being a photographer brings me so much joy. I am absolutely honored every time I am asked to capture the moments in my clients' lives.
My family is EVERYTHING to me.
My husband and I are high school sweethearts and have been married over a DECADE. We have four amazing kids who keep us on our toes and highly entertained. I always knew I wanted to be a mother and am so thankful to have a home filled with joy, laughter, and yes... a bit of chaos.
I am so blessed to be able to pursue my passion for photography AND stay at home with our children! This time of life is precious. I love watching these kids grow and I will always be grateful for this time with them.
As a family we enjoy hiking, going camping, doing crafts, making messes, having spontaneous dance parties, learning something new, and enjoying a movie marathon of Harry Potter or Star Wars
(complete with popcorn, of course).
I am an eternal optimist.
I am independent to a fault.
I love BIG.
I pour my heart into everything I do.
I enjoy getting to know people but deep down I am a huge introvert.
I love being creative in many art forms and grew up in a family of artists (no, seriously... go check out my mom: www.marywkerr.com and
my brother: www.stkerr.com).
I enjoy coffee at any time of day in many different ways (no regular Starbucks order for this girl). I love chocolate and cheesecake ... they have the power to cure a rough day. I am a sucker for God showing off with a stunning sunrise and/or sunset. Tacos are and have always been my favorite dinner. The beach is my "heaven on earth." A good game night with friends is ALWAYS good for the soul!
